Overview
The Universal Payment Report has been built to produce transactional payment data in a format that can be easily read by accounting software. The report pulls payment information from your Agreements, including IFRS Component and Non IFRS Component Payments. You can run the report using a preset, using the default set up that loads when you open the report, or you can customise it to fit your existing accounting needs. This will produce a customised output which you can use as part of your regular accounts payable and / or receivable processes.
This article will go through:
- how to find the Universal Payment Report
- how to run and export the report
- how to make basic customisations
- how to save the report as a preset
For information on more advanced features of the report, including filtering, removing wash-up payments, identifying holdover Agreements, incrementing outputs, and viewing taxation details, please check out this article.
Please note: Currently, this report is only visible for select customers. If your company has not requested to use the report, you will not see it available in your view of the system. If you believe the report would be useful for your company's accounting practices, please reach out to your Account Manager or our Support Team (support@nomosone.com) to discuss further.

Alternatively, use the Relevant Date Picker:
- To the right of the start and end date fields, click the drop-down menu.

Column Builder
The vast majority of inputs for the Universal Payment Report are in the Column Builder section. The section allows for data to be pulled from Agreement, Entity, Property, and Payment-related fields, including Custom Data Fields added to the former three. You can add new columns, remove columns, and edit existing columns.
To add a new column:
- In the Column Name field, enter the title of the column.
- In the Value field, enter the information required to produce your desired output. This information could include data fields, functions, numbers, operators, and plain text.
- Once you are happy with the information in the Value field, click Add.
Typing a forward slash (/) into the Value field will bring up a long list of usable data fields. This list includes multiple fields that are hard-coded into the report, pulling information from the standard fields available during the Agreement creation process. These tend to follow the example format of agreement.fieldName, payment.fieldName, entity.fieldName, and property.fieldName. If your Organisation has Custom Data Fields set up, these will also appear in the data field list.
- For Agreement custom fields, these appear using the format of
agreement.custom.ExampleField. - For Entity and Property custom fields, these appear using the format
entity.ExampleFieldandproperty.ExampleFieldrespectively.
To remove a column, click the bin icon for the relevant column:

To edit an existing column, simply make the required changes in the Column Name and/or Value fields. The changes will be saved, and you can run the report.
The Column Builder section is where you can input Excel-like functions and formulae, to customise the Universal Payment Report to meet your external accounting needs. Given the potential for complexity that comes with entering Excel functions and formulae to the Report input, we have created another article that walks you through the process, provides some examples of common functions and formulae, and displays the output of those examples. Check it out here.
Error Logs
Remember to check your report's Logs once you have run the Report. The Logs will show which of your Agreements have not successfully pulled through to the Report you've generated, and an error message noting the reason why.
To view the Error Logs:
- Run your Report.
- Click the Logs button. To return to the Report view, simply click the Report button.

The Error Logs will display the Agreement ID, Agreement Name, and the relevant error message. You can then search for the ID or Name in the current version of Nomos One to find the Agreement and resolve the error.

While the Universal Payment Report is not an IFRS 16 Report, some of the errors that prevent Agreements from being included in IFRS 16 Reports also prevent Agreements from being included in the Universal Payment Report. As such, if you need any guidance on what the error message means, or how to resolve the issue, please refer to our article on IFRS 16 Reporting Errors.
Reach out to our Support Team at support@nomosone.com if you need any further help diagnosing or resolving the error.
Exporting
Once you have generated the report, click the “Download” button in the top right corner of the page to download a CSV file of the report.

If you have columns that are included in the report that you do not need included in the exported file, open the Column Builder section and uncheck the “In Export” box for the relevant columns.
